大年初一, 头一天
5:20 PM after morning service, i headed down to Val's house to meet up with my family bumped into Eddie and 1st uncle family at her house. was walking around the house and realised something strange... all the males (my generation and below) were wearing blue strips top! Eddie, Daryl, Damien, Kernie and my bro, even David!! they were all wearing (all sort of) blue stripes! actually including mi! Haha! wat a coincidence?! after that, we went to the temples to pray (yearly ritual) i nv really like going to temples, especially during CNY, the ever-flowing crowd, the smoking of the joss sticks, the pushing and shoving (jus to clear the path to the altar) and the soaring heat. *faintz! i almost got burnt by the joss-sticks of some ah ma who bringing her grandson along. we were lighting the joss sticks at the same place, and she walked off with the grandson holding the joss sticks. The joss sticks were still burning, with flames!! i bumped into her and her grandson again at the entrance of the temple... she was turning towards me, trying to get her grandson to hold and joss sticks and pray when i was about to walk past her.. as our actions were in counter-directions and she was squating down with her grandson... her joss sticks NEARLY swiped across my thighs. (FYI: i was wearing shorts..) luckily i was alert and fast *heng ah!! then while walking to the temple, some ashes fall on my hands. !!! Holy Crapz !! it's painful! it dun hurt this much in the past. my mom kanna some too, from the person standing next to us. more fell onto my fingers..!!-_-!! i reckon the composites of the joss sticks this time was different. in the past, when the ashes fall, it will loosen up along the fall and so when it landed on ur skin, at least it has already cool off abit, and wun burn so much. this time, the ashes fall like cigarette ashes... in chunks!! i try to minimise the movements of my hand holding the joss-sticks, as the lady standing in front of mi was wearing a sleeveless top. can't help, the ashes fell off eventually and woooooohoo! (i saw her jerked abit and fidgeted away, oops!) my first day of CNY is yet to be over.. gonna head back down to Val's house for dinner. Supposingly to bring Cola along.. but Michael might not be able to get his car in time to bring Cola over. gonna be Cola's nanny for this week while Michael go HK with Meiling. * but i m so exhausted already...still got Woh Hup CNY dinner event tml * >_< 0♥ in the cookie jar |
